Kudos is Prosper's recognition tool — a fast, meaningful way to celebrate great work and reinforce the values that matter to your organisation. Recognising a contribution in the moment, and linking it to a company value, turns everyday good work into visible, shareable moments that lift engagement across your frontline teams. This guide explains how to send Kudos from the Management Dashboard, Employee Dashboard, and the App, as well as how recipients receive Kudos.

What is Kudos?
Kudos lets any member recognise a peer for a specific contribution by choosing a badge, writing a short message, and linking that praise to one or more of your organisation's company values. Recognition can be given from the Management Dashboard (Managers and Administrators) the Employee Dashboard or the Prosper App (all members), and is delivered to the recipient by SMS and email as well as appearing in-platform.
This guide covers how to send and receive Kudos.
Key terms
A few terms used throughout this guide:
- Badge: The recognition type you select when giving Kudos, representing the contribution you're celebrating.
- Company values: Your organisation's unique values. Linking Kudos to a company value reinforces the behaviours you want to see more of. Company values are fully customisable and can be updated at any time by contacting our Support team.
- Recipient: the member or members receiving the Kudos. You can recognise an individual or a group.
- Leaderboard: a Management Dashboard view of Kudos activity that can be filtered by Teams and Locations, Sent and Received.
- My Activity: the shared feed where Kudos appears for members to see, like and delete.
Prerequisites
- To send Kudos from the Management Dashboard, you must be a Manager or Administrator.
- To send Kudos from the Employee Dashboard and the App, you can be any member.
- Recipients must be active members of your organisation.
- To link praise to a value, your organisation's company values must be configured.
How to send Kudos from the Management Dashboard
Managers and Administrators
Step 1 — Navigate to Kudos in the menu and choose a badge
From the Management Dashboard, open the main menu and select Kudos. You'll see the badges available — each represents a different type of recognition. Choose the badge that best reflects the contribution you want to celebrate.
Step 2 — Write a message and link praise to your company values
Write a short, specific message describing what the person did and why it mattered, then link your praise to one or more company values. Naming the specific behaviour — and the value it demonstrates — is far more motivating than a generic "great work".
Step 3 — Choose recipients and Send Kudos
Select the recipient(s) who should receive this recognition — you can recognise an individual or a group in one go — then select Send Kudos.
How Kudos is received
Managers, Administrators and Employees
Kudos travels with the recipient. Once confirmed, it's delivered by SMS (if opted in), email, and in the App. It also appears in the Employee Dashboard, on the member's profile, and in the Activity Feed.
From there, here's what members and leaders can do:
-
Managers and Administrators can view Kudos Leaderboards in the Management Dashboard, and filter by Received and Sent, Teams and Locations.
-
Members can view their Kudos history in My Activity in the dashboard.
- Members can interact with Kudos in the Activity Feed by selecting Like (the heart icon).
-
Deleting Kudos: Administrators can delete any Kudos from the Activity Feed by selecting Delete (the trash can icon). Managers can delete Kudos given by members of their team, and all members can delete Kudos they have personally sent.

Kudos given from the Employee Dashboard follows the same journey as any other.

Tips and best practices
Recognition works best when it's specific, timely and genuine. A few principles to get the most from Kudos:
- Be specific. Describe the exact behaviour and its impact. "Stayed back to help a new starter close up" lands far harder than "great work".
- Recognise in the moment. Kudos is most motivating when it's close to the event, not saved up for a review cycle.
- Link a value when it's relevant. Connecting praise to a company value turns individual recognition into culture reinforcement.
- Recognise widely, but keep it genuine. Spread recognition across your team, but only where it's earned — Kudos that's given for everything loses its meaning.
- Use Leaderboards to notice, not just rank. Filter by Team and Location to spot people and groups who are contributing and being recognised — and those who might be missing out.
Troubleshooting
I can't see Kudos in the menu.
Sending from the Management Dashboard requires Manager or Administrator access. Any member can send Kudos from the Kudos section of their Employee Dashboard, or the Prosper App. If you expect management access and don't have it, check with your Administrator.
Can I recognise more than one person at once?
Administrators and Managers can select multiple participants before choosing to Send Kudos.
My recipient says they didn't get an SMS or email.
Kudos is delivered in-platform regardless — check the Employee Dashboard, the member's profile, and the Activity Feed. If SMS or email consistently isn't arriving, confirm the member's mobile number and email address are correct in their profile, notifications are on in the employee's profile, then contact support.
I sent Kudos to the wrong person, or made a mistake.
Kudos can't be edited, but all members can delete Kudos they have given from the Activity Feed, Administrators can delete any Kudos, and Managers can delete Kudos given by members in their team.
A Kudos isn't appearing on the Leaderboard.
Check the Leaderboard's Team and Location filters — a Kudos may sit outside the currently selected filters. Clear or adjust the filters to see all recognition.
Can I run a report on Kudos?
Yes. Open the Reports tab in the menu, where you'll find recognition reports covering Kudos activity across your organisation. The Reports tab is available to Admins only.
